Yvonne Amelia Brown, 74 of Nevada, Ohio passed away on Friday October 24, 2025, at home following a seven month battle with a rare form of brain cancer. Yvonne was born August 29, 1951, in Bucyrus to the late Philip and Loretta Fritz. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by first husband Lon Fry, grandchild Haley Fry, and brothers Ronald and Leroy Fritz.
Yvonne is survived by husband Michael Brown; children Shon Fry of Bucyrus, Dionne (Gustavo) Guerra of Pickerington, Ohio, and Mick (Rebecca) Brown of Bucyrus; grandchildren Kegan, Kohen, and Tarryn Fry, and Gabe Guerra; brothers Julius Fritz of Bucyrus and Melvin Fritz of Montgomery, OH; sister-in-laws Teresa Fritz of Bucyrus and Cathy Fritz of Mentor, OH; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Yvonne graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1969 and The Sandusky School of Practical Nursing in 1973. She worked at Vancrest (Fairhaven Community) in Upper Sandusky for over 40 years. She took pride in being a nurse, it was her way of life, not just a career.
Yvonne was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Bucyrus. She enjoyed spending her free time sewing, planting flowers, baking, making all sorts of crafts, traveling, collecting Longaberger Baskets, and everyone who knew her, knew she had a sweet tooth! She loved her family, children, and most of all, her grandbabies.
The family will receive family and friends at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Sunday November 2nd, 2025 from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm. A Memorial Mass will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Monday November 3rd, 2025 at 11:00 am with Father Paul Fahrbach as Celebrant and burial to follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery. A scripture service will be led by her brother, Deacon Julius Fritz, at 3:45 pm on Sunday following the visitation.
The family would like to extend their gratitude and thanks to the staff from Hospice of Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Vancrest, and Freedom Caregivers. Their compassion and kindness was exceptional.
