William Ryan McDannell, 34, of Bucyrus passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025. Ryan was born January 15, 1991 in Tiffin, Ohio to the late William Raymond McDannell, and Candra Lee (Gregory). He was married April 21, 2018 to Melissa (Miller) McDannell who survives.
Ryan is survived by his wife Melissa McDannell; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Ryan graduated from Mohawk High School in 2009. He had a lifelong passion for trading card games, especially Pokémon and Magic: The Gathering. Whether he was collecting rare cards or playing matches with his friends, he could spend hours, even days, immersed in the games he loved. Ryan was a kind, gentle man. His heart was generous, and his presence brought comfort and warmth to everyone around him. He deeply loved his wife, his family, and his friends, and he showed that love through quiet strength, constant support, and a steady, unwavering loyalty. Animals, especially cats, were naturally drawn to him. His gentle nature seemed to speak to them, and his beloved cats followed him wherever he went, forming an inseparable bond.
Ryan was also a dedicated sports fan, always cheering on the Pittsburg Steelers, Michigan Wolverines, Columbus Blue Jackets, Cleveland Guardians, and Columbus Crew. Watching the games was more than just a hobby, it was a part of who he was.
He will be deeply missed by so many whose lives he touched with kindness, laughter, and love.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com.
