IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Walter R. "Dick"
Joseph
September 5, 1934 – February 25, 2026
Walter R. “Dick” Joseph, 91 passed away peacefully at Primrose Retirement Community of Marion on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. Walt was born on September 5, 1934 in Fremont, Ohio to the late Walter Oscar and Elsie Blanche (Drown) Joseph. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Janeen L. (Hoover) Joseph. Walt is also survived by children Debra Joseph, John (Kris) Joseph, and Susan Augustson; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 2 grand dogs. He was preceded in death by Don Joseph.
Walt was a graduate of Old Fort High School in 1952 and a graduate of The Ohio State University. He did roofing and farming in Seneca County and for several years was a School Teacher and Administrator. Following his Retirement from education, he worked as a real estate agent and auctioneer in Bucyrus. Prior to moving to Marion to be close to his family, Walt retired in Henderson, Nevada where he & Janeen spent 27 fantastic years enjoying all that Las Vegas has to offer.
Walt served in the U.S. Army for 2 years and was a member of the Delta Theta Sigma Fraternity, the Bucyrus Rotary Club, and the Bloomville Lions Club. Walt enjoyed woodworking, cheering for the Buckeyes, playing Euchre and spending time with Family.
Walt never met a stranger. His positive attitude was reflected in his familiar response “Fantastic” when asked how he was. He was a wonderful husband, dad, grandpa, great-grandpa and brother-in-law. He will be sorely missed but always in our hearts.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Primrose Retirement Community of Marion and caregivers Breanna, Laura, Crystal and Kamareah from Cornerstone Caregiving for their loving care and support.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on February 28th at 2:00pm in the Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church in Tiffin. The family will receive friends from 11:00am until the time of the service. The family suggests in lieu of Flowers, memorials may be made to Green Valley Presbyterian Church in Henderson, NV or Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church in Tiffin. Expressions of Sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com.
