Virginia M. (Steiger) Poland

Biography:  Virginia M. (Steiger) Poland, 86 of Norwalk passed away on Tuesday Aug. 2, 2016 at Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk.  Virginia was born April 16 1930 in Bucyrus to the late Henry F. and Martha (Long) Steiger.  She graduated from Sulphur Springs High School in 1948 and then went to work at the Second National Bank in Bucyrus. 
Virginia married Martin E. Poland on Feb. 18, 1955 and moved with him to Norwalk.  She then went to work at the Huron County Bank as a teller.  She retired with her husband from Standard Oil-BP.  Virginia enjoyed bowling and golf. She bowled on the Huron Co. Bank Team.  In addition, Virginia was a life member of the Beta Sigma Phi and a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church where she formerly sang in the choir and was a soloist. 
 
Virginia is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Harold and June Steiger of North Fort Meyers, FL and Bucyrus; a niece and her husband Joy and Larry Moore of Crestline.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Martin Jan. 1, 2003.
 
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with burial to follow in St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery, Sulphur Springs.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00pm until 6:00pm and on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service.  Expressions of sympathy can be left at munzpirnstill.com
