Biography:  Thurston U. Beaty, 86 of rural Nevada passed away on Tuesday November 7, 2017 at home.  Thurston was born January 6, 1931 in Overton Co., TN to the late Manual and Roena (Mathews) Beaty.  He was married Oct. 13, 1956 to Freeda (Plank) Beaty who preceded him in death on Dec. 31, 2016. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by son Jerry Beaty; one great grandson; 7 sisters and 6 brothers.
Thurston is survived by daughters Betty Beaty and Ronda (Robert Fuller) Beaty both of Bucyrus; grandchildren Alvin and Marc Stinehelfer, Jeremy, Zach, and Bruce Beaty; and great grandchildren Destiny, Matthew, Emma, Nikendra, and Ian; brother Shelby and sisters Josie, Olene, Lallon, Lois.
Thurston moved to the Mansfield area in the 1950's and worked at Empire Detroit Steel in Mansfield where he retired from in 1983.  Following retirement Thurston moved back to Tennessee and then back to this area 6 years ago.  He enjoyed reading, talking politics and shooting firearms with his grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 3:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Chaplain Steve Sturgeon officiating, burial will follow in Oceola Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until the time of service. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Wyandot County and expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com.
