Ruth Caroline Harriger

December 31, 1969 — January 18, 2016

Biography:  Ruth Caroline Harriger died on January 15, 2016 at Heartland of Bucyrus. She was 74.
Ruth was born on December 11, 1941 in Tiro, OH, a cold, clear day. She was the first born in a set of twins to the surprise and delight of their parents.

A life-long resident of Crawford County, Ruth lived a life of joy, humor, and occasional stubbornness. As a girl her constant companion was Tommy, a yellow tomcat. She enjoyed sewing and embroidery and documented the world around her with her ever-present Brownie camera. She had a sharp memory for important family dates and collected newspapers with a passion. She doted on her young nieces and nephews—playing games, taking them fishing, and making crafts. She looked forward with anticipation to weekend garage sales and the annual trip to the Crawford County fair.

During her stay at Heartland, Ruth relished winning at bingo, participated in competitive games of dominoes, and enjoyed craft time and special events with other residents.

A beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, Ruth was predeceased by parents Ira and Clara (Fritz) Harriger and nephew Ron Harriger. She is survived by brother Clarence Harriger of Galion, sister Dorothy Harriger of Bucyrus, and twin brother Roger Harriger of Galion; by nieces and nephews Earl (Ivy Oehrli) Harriger, Donna (David) Hartney, Randy (Marianne) Harriger, David (Marissa Cass) Harriger, Lori (Greg) Carman, April (Krabill) Harriger, and Ryan Harriger; and by many grand nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews.
