Roger Allen Erwin, age 82, passed away peacefully July 23, 2023 in Bucyrus Ohio. Roger was born to the late William A. and Marian (Lea) Erwin August 13, 1940 in Crawford County Ohio. Roger married the love of his life Maurine (Wade) Erwin October 13, 1959 and they shared 63 wonderful years together. Roger is preceded in death by his parents.

Roger is survived by wife, Maurine Erwin; children, Rhonda (Tom) Keefe and Jeff (Diana) Erwin; grandchildren, Nick (Ashley) Pirnstill, Casey (Han) Pirnstill, Derek (Shelly) Erwin, Blaine (Alexis) Erwin, Conner Pirnstill, Tyler (Amanda) Erwin, and Carsen Pirnstill; brothers, Bob (Mary) Erwin, Jerry (Mary Lou) Erwin, James (Sandy) Erwin; sister, Carol (Neal) Pasco; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Roger was a graduate of Sulphur Springs High School class of ’58. He worked for 42 years with R.R. Donnelley’s of Willard where he and Maurine both retired from in 2000. Roger was a former member of the Moose and was a NRA member. He loved having the family events at the house and attended as many family sporting events through the years that he could. Roger was a big fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and Pittsburgh Steelers and would watch the games on holidays and loved having dogs around the house over the years.

Roger was a man of many talents, there wasn’t much he couldn’t fix. From working on rebuilding older cars with his brothers, tinkering on old TV’s and electronics he would always keep busy with projects. He loved music and used to play guitar quite a bit. The family spent many summers up at the lakes where Roger and Maurine had a camper setup for the family to go boating and jet skiing. He did deer hunting trips with some of his work buddies, he was a pilot for a handful of years and had his own smaller personal plane. Some other hobbies included scuba diving in Ohio caverns, motorcycling, and boating.

There will be visiting hours at Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home from 11AM-1PM Friday July 28th. Interment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Crawford County Humane Society, American Heart, or American Cancer associations. With a service to follow at 1PM. Moments of remembrance may be left online at www.munzpirnstill.com.
