Richard G. “Rich” Green

December 31, 1969 — April 28, 2017

Biography: Richard G. “Rich” Green, 90 of New Washington passed away on Wednesday April 26, 2017 at Mill Creek in Galion.  Richard was born December 28, 1926 to the late George and Laura (Laipply) Green.  He was married January 28, 1956 to Carol Suzanne (Schimpf) Green who survives.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Robert and Grant Green as well as sisters Mary, Vida Shank, Betty, and Doris.


Rich is also survived by children Suzanne Green of Bucyrus; Darcy “D.L.” Green of Fremont; Beth (Jeff) Peace of Dexter, MI; and Albert Green of New Washington; sisters LeEtta Green of New Washington and Kathryn Hoover of Bucyrus; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.


Richard lived his entire life in the community and was a graduate of New Washington High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  He was an agriculture and dairy farmer.  Richard was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Ridgeton Rd. 


Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 11:00 am in the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Ridgeton Rd. with Rev. Hans Scherner officiating, burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home.  The family suggests memorials be made to the Church Memorial Fund or the American Cancer Society and expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com
