Richard Dean Schimpf

Biography:  Richard Dean Schimpf, 62, of Chatfield passed away on Thursday morning October 3, 2013 at his home following a short battle with cancer.  Richard was born April 17, 1951, in Bucyrus to the late Walter J. and Martha (Dove) Schimpf.
 
 
Richard is survived by children Dean (Kathryn) Schimpf, Chatfield; Dan (Laura) Schimpf of Delaware, OH; Diane Schimpf of Chatfield; grandchildren Julia and Joshua; siblings Carol (Richard) Green, New Washington; John (Wanda) Schimpf of Lykens; Ruth E. Schimpf and her husband Jaime Aros  of Ruston, LA; Mabel Onellion of New Iberia, LA; and Joe (Joyce) Schimpf, Lykens;
 
Richard graduated from Wynford High School in 1969.  He farmed his entire life, was a homebuilder, inventor and enjoyed tinkering.  Richard, gentle and kind, was a lifelong member of College Hill United Church of Christ.
 
Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 11:00 am in College Hill United Church of Christ with Rev. Bob Haskins officiating. Burial will follow in College Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Sunday from 1:00 -4:00 pm.  The family suggest memorials be made to the College Hill church.
