Rayford Blankenship

Biography:  Reyford Blankenship, 91 of Bucyrus passed away on Thursday March 16, 2017 at Altercare of Bucyrus.  Reyford was born August 17, 1925 in Pikeville, KY to the late Harve and Lonnie Blankenship.  He was married Sept. 9, 1944 to Mildred (Wolford) Blankenship who preceded him in death on Aug. 18, 1990.  He was also preceded in death by sons Danny, Kenny, and Ronnie; daughter Gertrude Sue Blankenship; grandsons Jay Carnes and Trent Blankenship; as well as brothers and sisters.
 

Reyford is survived by children Carl (Pam Light), Keith (Patty), and Tommy all of Bucyrus; Shelva Wadlington, Bucyrus; Vivian (Ernie) Weimer, Galion; Judy (Albert Johnson) Snyder of Wooster; and Gail (George) Coop of Venice, FL; 21 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; and great great grandchildren.

 

Reyford retired from Swan Rubber after working over 20 years.  He moved to Bucyrus in 1966 and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Hager officiating, burial will follow in Crawford County Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm.  Expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com
