Rachel Pauline Powers

April 27, 1934 — August 1, 2023

Bucyrus

Rachel Pauline Powers, 89, of Bucyrus passed away August 1, 2023 at Marion Pointe Nursing Home. Pauline was what she preferred to go by. She was born April 27, 1934 in Marion to the late Clarence and Flossie (Glass) Williams. She married Don J. Powers on July 10, 1950 and shared 67 wonderful years together. She was preceded in death by parents, husband, and children; Joseph, Michael, Robin, Margaret, Julie, and Alison; daughter-in-law Shelly; grandchildren, Chad and Shannon, Jesse; great-grandchildren, Hope and Alexa; siblings, Junior, Rosie, Linda, Shirley, Bert, Eleanor, and Marsha.

Pauline is survived by children, Edward (Fran) Powers of Upper Sandusky, Paul (Sherry) Powers of Bucyrus, Don (Jay) Powers of Florida; son-in-laws, Rodger of Bucyrus, Allan of Florida; daughter-in-law, Sonja of Bucyrus; 21 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 29 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Charles of Harpster, Butch (Noah) of Marion.

After marriage, Pauline moved in with her husband Don where they raised their children and had many businesses. They ran the bingo hall, the concession stand at the park, Don’s news/Gifts, Ralphie’s Bar, and the Pleasant Inn. One of their greatest accomplishments was when they built Powers Park in memory of their son, Mike, and his children were able to lend a hand in helping build this three-generation memorial. Adam, the youngest son, got to experience and helped his grandparents through this loss and they cared very much for him. Pauline always said he was her baby no matter what anyone said. Many memories were made at this park celebrating family gatherings, AMVETS picnics, weddings, graduations, and birthday parties.

Pauline and Don traveled all over the country and enjoyed stopping at historical places and casinos. They especially enjoyed visiting AMVETS conventions. They were involved in many organizations throughout their lives and helped many in need. Pauline always told it like it was, there was no sugar coating.

Funeral Services for Pauline will be Tuesday August 8, 2023 at 11:00 am in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Bishop Ted Thomas officiating and burial to follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
