Philip Wayne Goin

Philip Wayne Goin, 74, of Bucyrus, entered his eternal heavenly home in his sleep, Monday morning, October 17th at Bucyrus Community Hospital. Philip was born July 10th 1948 in Willard, OH to the late Everett and Margretta (Adams) Goin Jr.

Philip is survived by children, Steve Wayne Goin of Bucyrus, OH, Angel (Josh) Freeman of Bucyrus, OH; grandchildren, Christopher David (Hayley) Randall of Tiffin, OH, Cassandra Lillian-Dale Randall of Bucyrus, OH, Carson Wayne Cole of Bucyrus, OH; great-grandchildren, Coletin and Daniel; brothers and sisters, Mary Louise (Ronald) Westberg of Martinsburg, West Virginia, Randy Allen (Phyllis) Goin Sr. of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Dennis Lee (Jeanne) Goin of Bucyrus, OH, Angela Sue (Jerry) Ayers of Willard, OH; aunts, uncles, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins...

Phil attended Bucyrus High School, Bucyrus, Ohio and later obtained his GED. Phil was a member at Church of God of Prophecy, where he had several roles throughout the years, including Sunday School teacher and playing his steel guitar or bass guitar with the band.

Phil's first job was picking strawberries for 2$ a pint. He started at The Marion Star in 1976. Which lead him to The Mon Valley Independent of Monessen, Pennsylvania. Phil moved back to Bucyrus in 2002 to watch his grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, playing his steel guitar in church. In his older years he got into oil painting, Farmville, Age of Empires, spending time with his grandchildren, and fishing.

There will be a graveside burial at Maple Grove cemetery in New Haven Township at 1PM Friday October 21. There will be a celebration of life at the Carrothers Church of God of Prophecy 8765 ST RT 4 Carrothers, Ohio 44807 starting at 6pm Friday October 21. Memorials may be made through the funeral home.
