Paul Sylvanus Schimpf

Paul Sylvanus Schimpf died at Marion General Hospital on December 31, 2022. He was born on January 19, 1945 in the home where he lived most of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents F. Sylvanus Schimpf and Ruth (Kurtz) Schimpf, brother and sister-in-law Carl and Shirley Schimpf.

Paul is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann (Stacklin) Schimpf whom he married on May 6, 1978. He is also survived by sister Lillian Hartschuh; brother Melvin (Joyce) Schimpf; brother and sister in laws, Jim and Esther Stacklin, August and Carol Stacklin, Victor and Clara Kline, Ruth Stacklin, Gerald and Becky Stacklin, and Karen Porter; as well as many nieces and nephews, he loved and was happy to see. Always had a smile for them.

Paul graduated from Holmes Liberty High School in 1963. He worked at Swan Rubber for 46 years. He farmed, and raised Rhubarb to sell at the Farmers Market in the spring and sold firewood in the winter. Paul was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

 Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11:00 AM in the Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father Paul Fahrbach as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Lust Cemetery.  Family will receive friends at Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 4 from 1:00-3:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM. Rosary will be recited at 7:45 PM.
