Mollie L. (Nelson) Zornes

Mollie Zornes of Bucyrus went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 11, 2023. Mollie was born in Bucyrus, Ohio to Ella May Nelson on February 23,1945 who precedes her in death. On July 25, 1964, Mollie married Ralph Zornes and they were married for 52 years. He also precedes her in death. Avid animal lovers, Mollie and Ralph always had a family dog. She was described as an excellent animal trainer even teaching her current dog, Shilo, to bow forward to “pray” before her meals.

Most of her life was spent working in the home. She and Ralph were best friends and in their free time they loved camping and fishing.

A faithful member of the Faith Point, formerly Kaler Ave. Church of Christ in Christian Union, she attended for over 40 years. Mollie still practiced kneeling beside her bed nightly to say her prayers until her failing health no longer made it possible. She enjoyed church socials and was often requested to bring her Granny Cake.

Mollie leaves behind special brother-in-law, Vern (Roscoe) Zornes and special niece, Brenda Cronin. Also surviving her are brother-in-law, LeRoy Zornes, and many nieces and nephews. Friends and neighbors were a big part of Mollie’s journey and she spoke often about their support and how much they meant to her.

The family would like to thank Southern Care Hospice Services and Avita physicians who provided medical services and comfort to her throughout her journey the past 17 months.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am in the Faith Point church located at521 Kaler Ave., Bucyrus.  Thereafter, graveside services will be held at Crawford County Memory Gardens 6594 Old Lincoln Highway. Family and friends may gather at the Faith Point after the graveside services for a light lunch.

Contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice Services or the Humane Society.
