Michael (Mike) E Smith 72, born in Bucyrus OH to Roger & Rose (Brecht) Smith on September 28, 1953, and went to be with the Lord on July 25, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Married the love of his life Connie (Auck) Smith on March 15, 1980. They had three lovely children together Cindy (Christian) Barth, Nevada OH; Lester (Sara) Smith, Tiro OH; Jennifer (Scott) Kelly, Sidney OH. Mike has six beautiful grandchildren Vera, Clara, Shiloh & Faith Kelly and Crofton & Corbin Barth.

He is survived by brother Mark Smith, Tiro OH, and sisters Vicki (Tom) Taylor, Marietta GA, Linda (Greg) Stegeman, Medina OH; brothers-in-law: Larry Auck Chatfield, OH; Steve Auck, Bloomville, OH; Roger (Judy) Auck, Tiro OH, sister-in-law Bonnie (Karl ‘Bud’) Maul, New Washington OH, uncle Dennis (Susie) Brecht, North Fairfield, OH and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by Parents Roger & Rose (Brecht) Smith, mother & father-in-law Weldon & Martha (Feichtner) Auck, sisters-in-law Mary Ann Zeiter & Donna Auck, brother-in-law Douglas (Robin) Auck and numerous aunts and uncles.

Mike was a member of the graduating class of 1973 from Buckeye Central High School. Mike ground feed at New Washington Equity for 14 years and worked in the foundry and finishing room at Mansfield Brass and Aluminum in New Washington. He also loved working on the family farm.

Mike enjoyed being around his family and watching his grandkids grow. He was very proud of his kids and grandkids and all that they had accomplished. Mike had quite a sense of humor. He loved going up to Lake Erie to get some fresh perch. He liked to listen to the Ohio State Buckeyes. Mike was also very generous man, donating food to various soup kitchens in the area. He was a member of College Hill UCC and held the offices of Deacon and Elder over the last several years. He will be truly missed by his loved ones.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 am in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Ebersole officiating, burial will follow in Sandusky Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers Memorials may be given to Sandusky Cemetery, College Hill UCC, Chatfield Food Pantry or Avita Home Health and Hospice.
