Michael “Mike” W. Young, 65, of Chatfield passed away on March 31, 2026 at Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital. Mike was born December 24, 1960. Mike is preceded in death by parents Luther and Mary (Heitz) Young; brothers, Steven F. Young, David Oney and Bob Oney; nephew, Timmy Seals.

Mike is survived by his fiancé of 15 years, Christy Guzman; children, Nicholas Hawkins, Michael A. (Lola) Young, Crystal (Jason) Hodgkins, James (Mary) Smith, Allen Glosser, Marie Heisz, Dakota (Hailey) Heisz, Gene Guzman, Jessica (Rich) Young, Jennifer (Nick) Paynter; brothers, Calvin Loyer, Truman Sandlin, Gregory Heil, Josh Smith; sisters, Hazle Landrum and Tiffany Vanderpool; previous spouses and kids parents, Elizabeth Duff, Dianna (David) Vreeland; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews; 7 great grandchildren. Mike had a special bond with his great granddaughter Evelynn Rose Kay, that was his little peanut, his Babylon buddy who he talked to on the phone everyday.

Mike worked at many different jobs through the years, he had done carnival and fair jobs as well as farming most of his life. Mike was a member of the VFW of Shelby. He enjoyed diamond paintings, was an Xbox gamer, he would attend his sons football games and band performances. Mike had a very mechanical mind, he enjoyed working on cars, and going to car shows, and would always go to the Bike Weeks in Shelby. He was a Cleveland Browns sports fan and a Michigan State fan.
