Michael Allen Johnson

Biography:  Michael Allen Johnson, 37, of Bucyrus, went to be with the Lord on January 25, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.  Michael was born December 23, 1981 to Garland and Terry (Wallingford) Johnson, of Bucyrus. Michael is also survived by his wife, Holly Studer, whom he wed on January 11, 2019; step-son, Chandler, whom he raised and considered his own son; maternal grandmother, Willena Wallingford; brothers Mark (Barbara) Johnson, of Baytown, TX; Charles, of Mansfield; John, of Galion; parents-in-law, Urban and Gale Studer, of Bucyrus; brother and sisters-in-law, Jay (Jenny) Studer, of Dayton; Tami Leonhardt, of Bucyrus; Michelle (Chris) Poole, of Ontario; uncles, Johnnie (Deb) Wallingford, of Bucyrus; Rick, of Bucyrus; aunt, Shelly (Tim) Smith, of Marion; uncle, Robert (Teresa) Wallingford, of Marion; Lee (Louann) Johnson, of Benton; Henry (Wanda) Johnson, of Bucyrus, and many cousins. Michael was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Wendl Wallingford; paternal grandparents, Claude and Lucinda Johnson; 2 aunts, Sherry and Beverly Wallingford; as well as 4 aunts; and a step-sister, Rebecca Faye Johnson.


Michael graduated in 2000 from Colonel Crawford High School with honors from Pioneer in Criminal Justice.  He worked for 18 years as a corrections officer with 15 of those at Marion Correctional.  Michael was hard working, loved, and respected by everyone who met him. He will be dearly missed.


The family will receive friends at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Tuesday from 10 am until 12 pm and from 4 pm until 6 pm when funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Lyle Arnett.
