Martha R. Fortner,

Biography:  Martha R. Fortner, 85 of Bucyrus passed away on Wednesday December 20, 2017 at her home. Martha was born February 19, 1932 in Honaker, VA to the late Clarence and Edith (Thompson) Wilson.  She was married August 25, 1951 to J.R. Fortner who preceded her in death on May 21, 2002.  She was also preceded in death by 9 siblings.
 

Martha is survived by children Carol (Edward) Hicks, Bucyrus; Laura (David) Lady, Chatfield; Jackie (Jack) Metzger, Huron; Richard (Paul Causman) Fortner, Sylvania; and Timothy (Priscilla) Fortner, Oceola; 10 grandchildren Catherine Hicks, Elizabeth Harris, Victoria Hicks, Joshua, Jeff, and Jake Buckley, Jessica Metzger, Abigail, Benjamin, and Ezekiel Fortner; numerous great grandchildren; sister Alice White of Livingston MT; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Martha worked for Bucyrus City Schools as a Bus Driver for 21 years.  She was a talented singer, songwriter, and artist that enjoyed painting.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 3:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 pm until the time of service.  Expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com.
