Margaret J. Starner

Biography:  Margaret J. Starner, 98 yrs. of age, passed away on Saturday February 4, 2017 at Altercare of Bucyrus.  Margaret was born June 17, 1918 in Bucyrus to the late Monta and Ethel (Spangler) Starner.  She was also preceded in death by brother James Starner and sister Sally Davis.  Margaret is survived by nieces and nephews.


Margaret was a graduate of Bucyrus H.S. in 1936 and was a graduate of Bowling Green State Univ. and of Whittier College in Whittier, CA.  She taught school in Crawford County and Southern California.  Margaret was a member of the Bucyrus United Methodist Church, the Wesleyan Circle, Friends of the library, Kings Daughters Principatus Circle, a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and was a trustee and volunteer for the Bucyrus Historical Society.
Burial will be in Nevada Cemetery with graveside services at 11:00 am on Saturday Feb. 18, 2017, Pastor Brad Smith will be officiating.  The family suggests memorials be in the form of contributions to the St. Jude Children's Hospital through the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home.
