Marcella “Marci” Jean Blankenship, age 79, passed away at Carlisle Place of Bucyrus, May 11, 2024. Marci was born to the late James and Violet (Hocker) Bogan on July 2, 1944, in Galion, Ohio. Marci was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother, Vivian Bogan; husband, Calvin Blankenship; son, Michael Blankenship; and special friend, Richard (Dick) Kidd.
Marci is survived by grandchildren, Logan Blankenship and Haley Blankenship; sisters, Janet (Raymond) Steward and Lorraine (Hollis) Walter; as well as many nieces, nephews, close friends and extended church family.
Marci worked for many years at Swan Rubber, Hebco, and her most recent job was at the Crawford County Recorder’s Office. Marci was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in North Robinson. She volunteered for numerous organizations like BORN, VITA, and other charities close to her heart. She loved line dancing, spending time with friends, and regularly meeting with her group of friends who called themselves JUG’s (Just Us Girls). She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
The family will be receiving friends Friday, May 17, from 4-7 pm at Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home. Funeral services are at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in North Robinson on Saturday, May 18, at 11 am. Friends are welcome to come an hour prior at 10AM to visit before the service. Burial will be at Crawford County Memorial Gardens, with a lunch following at the church. Memorials may be made to the Church or an organization of the donor’s choice. Moments of remembrance may be left online at www.munzpirnstill.com
