Biography: Lloyd G. Klingel, Jr.84 of Bucyrus, Ohio passed away Friday December 22, 2017 at Carlisle Place. Lloyd was born August 6, 1933 in Wyandot County, Ohio to the late Lloyd and Lydia (Boehm) Klingel. He served his country during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Germany. Following his Military Service he spent the rest of his life living on a farm outside of Sulphur Springs, Ohio. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister Betty (Klingel) Russell.
Lloyd is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Shirley (Brown) Klingel, three children, Melody (Todd) Klingel Spencer of Pataskala Ohio, Joseph Klingel of Bucyrus, and David Klingel of Charlotte, NC.; sister Ruth Ann (Klingel) Stirm of Crestline; and six nieces and nephews.
Lloyd loved his family, the church, and living on the farm. He was a former employee at Swan Rubber Company and was a life long member of Hope Church in Sulphur Springs, a member of Bucyrus Lodge #139 F&AM, and a Past Patron of Bucyrus OES #3. He was active with 4-H, and a chapter Dad with his children in Upper Sandusky DeMolay. He loved to travel and spent winters on the Rio Grande River at Chimney Park, Mission, Texas. While in Texas, he enjoyed visiting with friends from all over the country, potlucks, picking fruit, and going to flea markets.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 1:30 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home, Bucyrus with, burial will follow in Sandusky Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Masonic Services will be held on Thursday evening at 7:45 pm. The family suggests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner’s for St. Jude’s Hospital. Expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com.
