Leatha Ann "Lawhun" Stone Malone

Leatha Ann (Lawhun) Stone Malone, 81 of Nevada, Ohio passed away peacefully on Saturday September 19, 2026, at home. Leatha was born June 17, 1945, in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Eugene and Wilda (Lewis) Lawhun. She was first married to Estil Stone June 17, 1963, and he preceded her in death on October 6, 1995. On September 17, 1999, she married Herb Malone and he passed away on August 29, 2008. She was also preceded in death by stepson Rick Malone, brothers Darrell, Leroy, and Othie Lawhun, and sister-in-law Jane Lawhun.

Leatha is survived by sons David (Kathryn) Stone, Robert (Melissa) Stone, and Michael (Amie) Stone; granddaughters Schalena, Cassidy, Sara, Kristina, Kelsey, and Haley; great grandchildren Joseph and Melody; step children Raegene Guthrie, Lori Beeman, Faye (Joe) Ruhl, Tonja (Scott) Newmeyer, and Johnny (Lisa) Malone; numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother Corless “Bud” Lawhun; sister Doris Teets Butler and her husband Dean; additional family Carol Gillespie and Debbie Musselman; and cherished friend Rose.

Leatha graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1963. She worked as a dietician and office manager at Fairview Manor for over 25 years. Leatha enjoyed golfing at New Winchester (especially with teammate Dan), playing Bingo, working in the yard and taking care of her house, as well as baking, cooking, and canning for family and friends.

The family will receive friends at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Thursday from 12:00 noon until departing for Nevada Cemetery at 1:00 pm for a graveside service. The family suggests memorials be in the form of contributions to the Humane Society, Alzheimer’s Foundation, or the American Cancer Society.
