Larry W. Stander

Biography:  Larry W. Stander, 62 of Bucyrus passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday December 30, 2015 at Bucyrus Community Hospital following an extended illness.  Larry was born Nov. 23, 1953 in Vanceburg, KY to the late Charlie H. Stander and Fairlean (Cooley) Stander Steele who survives.  In addition to his father, her was preceded in death by brother Randy.
Larry is survived by his wife who he married Dec. 12, 2009, Linda (Wuertz) Hoover Stander;  mother and stepfather Fairlean and Walter Steele, Bucyrus; children Jennifer (Shane) Shearn, Danville; Amy Lynn Stander, Mt. Vernon; Joseph (Amy D.) Stander, Howard, OH; Katie Hoover, Bucyrus; Steve (Trina) Hoover, Nevada; special son in law Roy Yoder, Howard, OH; grandchildren, Kevin, Doug, Tyler, Kaatelyn, Briana, Autumn, Sabrina, Zabrielle, Brock, Keaton, Emilee, and Macy; great grandchildren Issabella and Jaxson; brothers James, Charles, Gary, Roger, and Paul Stander; sisters Ann Young, Terry McCoy, and Yvonne Heckert; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Larry worked in Tree Service, Construction, and Masonry.  He last maintained a 76 unit apartment complex and retired in 2011 due to illness.  Larry was a member of the Oceola Pentecostal Church.  Larry was a hard worker and loved working outdoors.  He did not know a stranger and could make anyone laugh.  Larry touched a lot of lives and had a deep faith in God.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Angel officiating, burial will follow in Oceola Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.  Memorials may be made through the funeral home and expressions of sympathy can be left at munzpirnstill.com
