Karen Kay Swart, 82 of rural Nevada passed away on Tuesday September 30, 2025 at home. Karen was born June 13, 1943 in Bucyrus to the late William Woodrow and Virginia Catherine (Nelson) Hill. She was married January 1, 1962 to Howard Robert Swart who preceded her in death on March 6, 2011.
Karen is survived by children Ken Swart, Annette (Randy) Moore, June (Doug) Hurst, and Phil (Jen) Swart; grandchildren Nathan Swart, Ryan, Alyssa, and Jordan Moore, Jessica, Zach, and Dana Hurst, Cole and Aiden Swart, and Autumn Zehring; great grandchildren Hudson, Mason, Nora, Amelia, Kenton, Hadleigh, Ellie, Finn, and Aubree; sister Sharon Perdue; and brother William Hill.
Karen was a homemaker and had worked at Maplecrest for 7 years. She lived most of her life in the Bucyrus area apart from living with her husband in Mineral, Ohio for 7 years while he was pastoring following his retirement. Karen was a lifelong member of the Kaler Ave. Church of Christ in Christian Union and enjoyed her flower gardening.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 1:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Pastor David Barth officiating and burial to follow in Brokensword Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Memorials may be made to the Faith Point Community Church on Kaler Avenue and expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com
