Obituary

Joyce Ann Durigg, 73 of Galion passed away on Saturday April 25, 2026 at Galion Avita Hospital. Joyce was born September 12, 1952 in Crestline, Ohio to the late Delvin and Virginia (Priess) Rader. She was married July 10, 1993 to Ramon Durigg who survives. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by grandson Trahvon Royal Davis, brother in laws Steve Beanblossom and Richard Durigg, and mother & father in law Glen & Thelma Durigg.

Joyce is also survived by daughters Erika Towett Hough (Tyrone Hough) of Columbus, Ohio. and Melanie (Scott) Skaggs of Wapakoneta, Ohio; grandchildren Asante Towett, Gabriella Hough, Kiersten (Nathan) Ledford, Jacob Skaggs, and Timothy Skaggs; great grandchildren Sophia Hickman, Mia Potter, Sammy Ledford, Jackson Skaggs, and Mekenzie Skaggs; sisters Sheila (Larry) Schaeffer of Ontario, Ohio and Leesa Beanblossom of Greenville, Ohio; along with sister & brother in laws: Marge Durigg, Marleene (Stephen) McCloskey, Karen (Kieth) Sturtz as well as numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Joyce graduated from Crestline High School in 1971 and furthered her education at Pioneer for Cosmetology and Marion Technical College for a degree as a Registered Nurse. She worked first as a nurses aide, then LPN, and ultimately as a registered nurse at both Galion and Crestline Hospitals.

Joyce was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church on Ridgeton Road and the Galion Moose Lodge. Joyce enjoyed quilting and most of all her grandchildren, children, and husband.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am in the St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Andrea Taphorn officiating with burial to follow in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Tuesday from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm.

The family suggests memorials be in the form of contributions to the Kidney Foundation or St. Paul Lutheran Church Memorial Fund. Expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com
