Johnny Schubert, age 93, went home to be with the Lord on March 15, 2023. John was born to the late James Leonard and Annie Hazel (Vann) Schubert in Roane Co.-Oliver Springs, TN on May 8, 1929. John married Eula Schubert on March 24, 1951 who proceeded him in death on December 30, 2020. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by grandson Johnny Schubert III, great granddaughter Lillie Grace and great grandchild Andrew.

John is survived by  children J. Bernice (Preston) Walters, Sandra (Robert “Bobby”) Walters both of Galion, Wanda (Paul) Spencer of Bellville, and Johnny (Roze) Schubert II of Crestline; Grandchildren, Marlene Schubert, Nancy (Rod) Brace, Steve (Kate) Walters, Robert (Cassie) Walters, Karen (Brian) Ervin, Stephen Walters, Alexis Walters, Marcus Walters, Kevin (Abbie) Spencer, Brian (Laurie) Spencer; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Aidan, Adalyn, Lydia, James, Ellie, Anna,  Elliot, Emersyn, Ty, Addison, Kailee Rae, Laurel, Hunter, Aaron, Natalie, Nora, Isaac, Leah, Daniel, and Jackson;  3 great great grandchildren; siblings, Kenneth (Marie) of Nashville, TN, Jackie Ray (Carolyn), Melvin (Roberta), and Joseph (Mildred) all of Crossville, TN; brother in law Lewis Davis; as well as nieces and nephews; siblings and spouses that preceded him in death were Robert (Ramona and 2nd wife Virginia), Jerry (Veronica), James (Irene), Willie (John) Davis, Margaret Alice (Jim) Pelfrey, Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Davis, and infant sister Robbie Lucille.

Johnny was a Korean War Veteran and stationed in England.  He moved to this area in 1961 and was a faithful member of Bucyrus Freewill Baptist Church.  Johnny was a Deacon in the church most of his adult life. 

Johnny enjoyed working outside and farming.  He worked at the Experiment Farm for the University of TN and the Farmer's CO-OP.  After moving to this area John worked for several years at Perfection Cobey in Galion as a press operator and retired from Col. Crawford School as a Custodian.  Johnny was a builder and built several homes, helped build the church, and many mini-barns.  He was a devoted husband and father and dedicated to his church and family.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 11:00 am in the Bucyrus Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Lyle Arnett officiating and burial to follow in Iberia Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the Church on Sunday from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm.  Memorials may be made to Bucyrus Freewill Baptist Church and expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpinrstill.com
