John F. Smith

John F. Smith, 76 of Bucyrus went home to be with the Lord May 2, 2024. John was born July 8, 1947 to the late Frederick and Miriam (Patton) Smith. He is survived by his wife, Dez whom he married August 20, 1984. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Paul A. Smith.

John is also survived by his daughter Holly (Mark) Ortiz of Columbus; grandchildren, Emma (Chad) Farmer of Cincinnati, Joey Ortiz of Westerville, Gabe and Brady of Columbus; great grandchildren, Pearson and Lakyn Farmer; sister, Nancy (Tim) Allamon of Bucyrus; brother, Mike Smith of Crestline.

John graduated from Colonel Crawford in 1966. He worked at Baja Boats for 15 years and then Sunrise Co-Op 7 years before retiring in 2014. John enjoyed Ohio State Football, Basketball, as well as Nascar racing.
