James Alan McKeehen, 81 of Sulphur Springs passed away on Sunday September 13, 2026, at Orchard Park in Bucyrus. James was born November 8, 1944, in Bucyrus to the late Edwin A. and Frieda E. (Leonhart) McKeehen. He was also preceded in death by sister and brother-in-law Beverly and Earl Kleinhoffer as well as nephew in law Travis Scott.
Jim is survived by nieces Stacie Hargis, Stephnie Scott, Shaynie Kleinhoffer (Matt) Strawser, and Shelbie (Joe) Neptune; and many great nieces and nephews; McKinley and Justus Hargis, Kael Scott, Grace Clarkson, and Piper, Rourke, and Finley Neptune.
Jim graduated from Colonel Crawford High School and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. Jim retired from PPG in Crestline after working over 34 years.
Jim raced cars at localized drag strips until the late 1970’s. He loved to watch NASCAR, and his favorite driver was anyone driving a Ford and whoever beat Dale Earnhardt Sr. Jim loved Ford’s and the only time he drove something other than a Ford was when his dad passed away and he drove his dad’s Dodge. He would go out to Indy every year for the NHRA Fall Nationals and visit family that lived over in that area. Jim was also a huge KISS Fan.
