James Richard Lanker

James Richard Lanker 73 of Bucyrus passed away on Monday December 5, 2022 at home surrounded by his family.  James was born May 7, 1949 in Bucyrus to the late Richard and Eva (Lovell) Lanker.  He was married October 5, 1975 to Carol (Riedlinger) Lanker who survives.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother in laws Jesse Bayless, Bob Massey, and Bud McCarthy, as well as in laws Paul and Barbara Riedlinger and many dear friends.

James is also survived by children Jimmy (Kendra) Lanker and Katie (Aaron) Dornbirer; grandchildren Dylan, MiKayla, Leah, and Josie; sisters Sarah Bayless and Wanda (Pat) Cross; and sister in laws Donna Massey and Teresa McCarthy.

Jim retired in 2009 from Swan after working over 41 years as a Supervisor and Foreman.  He was a lifetime member of the Bucyrus Moose Lodge #669 and member of the American Legion Post 181. Jim enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing cards with his friends, and going on fishing trips to Canada.  He especially enjoyed time with his grandchild Josie over the past couple of years.

Private Services for the family will be held at Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Crawford County Humane Society or the Kindred Hospice.  Expressions of sympathy can be made at www.munzpirnstill.com.
