James "Jim" Quaintance

James “Jim” Quaintance, 82 of Bucyrus passed away at home on Tuesday October 24, 2023.  Jim was born January 10, 1941 in Bucyrus to the late Harry Leroy Quaintance and Lillie (Burton) Tippin.  He was married January 20, 1965 to Rosa (Bloomfield) Quaintance who survives.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother and sister-in-law Gilbert and Elizabeth Quaintance.

Jim is also survived by daughters Treva (Charles) Harigle and Leann (Troy) Dunham both of Bucyrus; 4 grandchildren Casey James (Kim) Harigle, Brandon (Shelby) Harigle, Brock (Kylie Nickler) Lykens, and Alexis (Dominick Campbell) Schifer; 6 great grandchildren, McKena, Braylon, Kayden, Addie, Maverick, and Daxton; and sisters Sally (Doc) Parker of Bucyrus and Joyce Lawrence of Sulphur Springs, step brothers and sisters as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Jim lived his entire life in Bucyrus and retired from Swan Rubber after 40 years.  Jim served in the Ohio National Guard for 6 years and was a member of the Bucyrus AMVETS Post #27.  He was a member of the Bucyrus Church of God and enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, riding in the semi-trailer with his grandson and attending ballgames of the grandkids.

The family will receive friends at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Friday from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm.  Private services will be held for the family at the Bucyrus Church of God with burial to follow in Crawford County Memory Gardens.  The family suggests memorials be made to the Bucyrus Church of God or Ohio Health Hospice and expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com
