Ilene was born to the late Henry and Hazel (Durigg) Rossman September 16, 1935 in Whetstone Township. Ilene was married twice in her life, her first husband Gerald Lohr passed on February 22, 1962 while in Germany during his time in the service. Ilene then later married Meredith Osborn whom preceded her in death August 11, 1994. She was preceded in death by parents, husbands, and sister Carol Miers.

Ilene traveled quite a bit throughout her years, in her early years she was in Germany from 1961-1962, she visited countries such as London, Rome, Spain, and Portugal. While living back in America the traveling didn’t stop, as she loved to get out of Ohio to check out beaches, mountains, state parks, and always was up for seeing something new. In her spare time, she was an avid reader, Ilene enjoyed gospel music, she played instruments in the band in high school, and she was a firm supporter of the CWA IUE Local Unions. Ilene wasn’t one to bite her tongue, she had very strong opinions, was a very generous soul, she loved connecting with people, and she was often described as feisty.
