Helen Marie Spurlock

Biography:  Helen Marie Spurlock, 90 of Bucyrus passed away on Friday September 21, 2018 at the St. Francis Home in Tiffin.  Helen was born February 15, 1928 in Marion to the late Dallas A. and Mary Orlena (Steinhalber) Swihart.  She was married July 2, 1949 to Donald Thurman Spurlock who preceded her in death in 1994.  She was also preceded in death by brothers Harold, Kenneth, and Carl Swihart as well as daughter-in-law Joyce Hughes Spurlock.


Helen is survived by children Thurman Spurlock of Bucyrus; Yvonne (Jurgen) Kraft of Mt. Perry; and James "Sparky" (Karen) Spurlock of Tiffin; grandchildren; Thurman, Richard, and Tony Spurlock, Richard and Jonathan Cochran; great grandchildren Keturah Lea, Thurman E., Zuri, Zoe, and Mazie; and one sister Francis Joan Slaughter of Jackson OH.


Helen had last worked at Millington Plastics for 18 years.  She graduated from Melmore H.S. in 1946 and was a member of Wayside Chapel.  Helen enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. and Europe.


Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Rev. Timothy Compton officiating, burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 until 6:00 pm.  Memorials may be made to the donor's choice and expressions of sympathy can be left at
