Gertrude E. Rumer

Biography:  Gertrude E. Rumer, 71 of Bucyrus passed away on Saturday July 27, 2013 in Marion General Hospital, she had been in failing health for the past year.  Gertrude was born Oct. 7, 1941 in Larue, OH to the late Arthur and Helen (Burkpile) Harvey.  She was married Feb. 27, 1965 to Lawrence Rumer who survives.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
 
Gertrude is also survived by children Thomas Rumer, Bucyrus; Christy (Keith) Young, Bucyrus; Mark (Erica) Rumer, Attica; step children Doug Rumer; Sandy Tichnell; David Rumer; and Danny Rumer all of West Virg.; grandchildren Jessica, Megan, Lee, Ashley, Cody, and Alexis;  several great grandchildren as well as numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother George Harvey of Florida and sister Dwilla Cramer of Springfield, OH.
 
Gertrude worked at Karen’s Diner, Rosewood Manor in Galion, Altercare, and for a short time owned G and L Ceramics in Bucyrus.  She enjoyed crafts, going to garage sales, outside activities such as cookouts, and being with her grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with burial to follow in Oakwood Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.  Memorials may be made through the funeral home and expressions of sympathy can be left at munzpirnstill.com
