Dorie was an active and devoted member of Good Hope Lutheran church for 66 years where she sang in the choir, was a member and leader of the Women of the Church board and over the years served many offices in the church Circles. She was a part of the seasonal decorating committee and volunteered for many other duties including driving cancer patients to treatment centers and doctor appointments, preparing food for various meals and special occasions at Good Hope and organizing meal donations for funeral dinners. Dorie loved helping others and serving her Lord, all the while sharing the message of His salvation. Most people have been blessed by one of Dorie’s most compassionate and faithful ministries of sending cards and flowers. When it concerned her family and friends, she never forgot a birthday, anniversary, birth, death, graduation, wedding, or special occasion. Her loving cards, notes and sweet surprises of floral deliveries touched the hearts of everyone who knew and loved Dorie. Second only to her love for the Lord, was her love for her family. She lived to take care of her family, to bring them happiness and comfort, to spend time with them, loving, laughing, and creating beautiful memories. In all of her roles as the matriarch of the Gubernath family she was unmatched. Her compassion and sacrifices for her family will live forever in our heart and lives.
Private celebration of life services for immediate family only will be held at Munz - Pirnstill Funeral Home.
Burial will be at Oakwood Memorial Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Stained-Glass window fund of Good Hope Lutheran, Hope’s Women of the church, or the Salvation Army, all located in Bucyrus, Ohio.
