Elizabeth Ann (Wurm) Haldeman of Bucyrus passed away peacefully on Thursday August 22, 2024 at home surrounded by her family. Betty, as she was affectionately called, was born May 23, 1935 in Bucyrus to the late Albert Wurm and Hazel (Bigler) Wurm Zeigler. She was married August 10, 1952 to her childhood sweetheart Norman Haldeman who preceded her in death on August 30, 2021. Betty was also preceded in death by son Gary Michael Haldeman; grandson Gary Michael Haldeman; step father Marian “Bob” Zeigler, brothers Charles, James, and John Wurm; and beloved sister Dolly Butterman.

Betty is also survived by children Chris (Karen) Haldeman; Cindy (Bill) Kuhn; Randy (Debbie) Haldeman; Cathy Haldeman (Doug Reardon); Greg Haldeman. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; Melissa Haldeman, C.J. Haldeman, Chad, Billy, Andrew, and Doug Kuhn, Tyler Haldeman, Amanda Saucedo, Jay Agee, and Christy Cantrell and eighteen great-grandchildren, Cooper, Parker, Leighlan, Katie, Will, Brooklyn, Ava, Zoe, Lainey, Arya, Lyanna, Frankee, Luke, Hannah, Jaedyn, CiCi, Caydence, Jack, and Ella; sisters Julie Gatchell of CA, Patricia Burling of Bucyrus, Brenda (Kenneth) Lawson of Bucyrus, and Joyce (Thomas) Fleury of PA; as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1952. She married her sweetheart Norm and created a wonderful, loving family that she adored. She was always there to make sure that they were on their best behavior. Betty was mom to everyone, especially the kids in the neighborhood on Park Ave. Those were the best of times.

Elizabeth was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She even brought her faith into the homes of her family. Elizabeth would meet with her sisters and niece Julie and whoever wanted to be present to pray for all souls, especially the needs of the family. The family is still being blessed by those prayers.

Elizabeth spent 34 years working for Dr. Michael Griffin after her children were grown. It was a job she loved. She loved her patients and Dr. Griffin and his family.

Elizabeth’s children wish for their mom to rest in peace as it was a blessing to be by her side on this journey. As their Dad always said, “I’ll see you in paradise”.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Wednesday at 11:00 am in the Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father Paul Fahrbach as Celebrant. The family will receive friends at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. The Rosary will be recited at 6:45 pm. The family suggest memorials be in the form of contributions to the Rosary Alter Society and expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com
