Eleanor M. Cross

Biography:  Eleanor M. Cross, 85 of Bucyrus passed away on Monday Nov. 16, 2015 at Bucyrus Community Hospital.  Eleanor was born Nov. 22, 1929 in Bucyrus to the late Harry and Edith Gertrude (Burling) Hart.  She was married May 29, 1948 to James E. Cross who passed away on July 10, 1999.  She was also preceded in death by son Ronald Cross.
 
Eleanor is survived by children James (Sue) Cross of Bucyrus; John (Hank) Cross, Phoenix, AZ; David (Jacque) Cross, Phoenix, AZ; Connie (Randy) Fritz, Bucyrus; grandchildren Dana Cross, Stacy (Matt) Stacy, Carrie (Chris Laforest) Cross, Katrina Cross, Jacob Escobar, and Jack Escobar; great grandchildren Dylan Cross Russell, Hayleigh Cross Russell, Evan Laforest, Stella Stacy, Connor Stacy, and Michael Escobar; sisters Helen Tackett, Bucyrus; Jackie Harrison, Marion: Patricia Smith, Bucyrus; Janet Knapp, Kirkpatrick; Sue Heinburger, Mansfield; Karen Harness, Bucyrus; Debra Hart, Bucyrus; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and her pet dog “Tiny”.
Eleanor lived her entire life in Bucyrus and was a graduate of Bucyrus High School in 1948.  She was a lifelong member of the Salvation Army where she did volunteer work and worked as a cook at the VFW 1078.  Eleanor enjoyed bowling when she was younger.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 2:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Lt. Annie Buckles officiating and burial to follow in Oakwood Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the time of service.  Memorials may be made through the funeral home and expressions of sympathy can be left at munzpirnstill.com
