Edward Cundiff

Biography: Edward Cundiff, 93 of Bucyrus passed away on Friday June 12, 2020 at Altercare of Bucyrus.  Edward was born November 9, 1926 in Pleasant Grove, OH to the late Edward P. and Nellie G. (Applegarth) Cundiff.  He was married August 2, 1947 to Gretchen (Dunn) Cundiff who preceded him in death on November 14, 1993.  He was also preceded in death by sisters June Cundiff, Phyllis Abel, Marie Pinney, and Nancy Luikart, as well as one brother Robert Cundiff.
Edward is survived by son Dennis Cundiff of Crestline; 2 grandchildren Dustin Edward and Jordan Allen Cundiff both of Belvedere, NJ; 6 great grandchildren Hayden, Allison, Ava, Anders, Nickoli, and Arabella; one sister Sarah Scott of Bucyrus; as well as many nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews.
Ed moved to Bucyrus in 1946 from Barton, OH. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a Quartermaster on the USS Mountrail, serving in the South Pacific.  Edward was a member of the American Legion Post 181 and Lifetime member of the Bucyrus Moose Lodge #669.  He retired from Swan Rubber in 1989.  In the 1950's Ed was a race car driver and owned his own car which he maintained mechanically.  One of Ed's biggest enjoyments was playing cards.
A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday June 23 at 2:00 pm in Brokensword Cemetery.  The family suggests memorial contributions be made through the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home and expressions of sympathy can be left at munzpirnstill@hotmail.com
