Diana Sue (Peterman) Moore, 69, of Bucyrus passed away peacefully on Sunday September 17 after a brave battle with breast cancer, her family was by her side. She was born on February 22, 1954 in Bucyrus to the late Edward and Irene (Hart) Peterman.
Diana is survived by her son James Moore-McDermott and his husband Matthew Dosch of Powell, Ohio. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins from the Hart and Peterman families and two co-In-laws.
Diana attended Pioneer Career and Technology Center for cosmetology, graduating in 1972 from Northmor High School. Growing up in Crawford County, Diana learned many skills on a farm at an early age. She learned how to drive a tractor at the age of 8 from her father. Her mother taught her the skills of a good cook and gardener. Diana grew up a farm kid, something she was proud of.
Diana always looked forward to spending the various holidays with her son and his family in Columbus, which included going to the Columbus Zoo Christmas lights the day before Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving was her favorite holiday. She also enjoyed spending time socializing with her aunts, uncles, and cousins. She looked forward to their weekly lunch get-togethers and family reunions. Diana also enjoyed cooking, gardening, going on various trips/adventures and she had a good sense of humor.
Diana will be remembered as a loving caring daughter and mother. When her parents took ill, she was there to take care of their needs. She was a supportive mother, always cheering her son on throughout his life. Diana’s son was with her every step of the way when she was diagnosed with breast cancer, He is eternally grateful for the time and chats they had during her final journey.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday September 30, 2023 at 11:00 am in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 10:00 until the time of the service.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the various doctors, nurses and staff of the Ohio State University Hospitals and the Stefanie Spielman Comprehensive Breast Center. Those wishing can donate in her memory to the Crawford County Humane Society or simply take a bag of cat or dog food to the humane society, tell them it’s from Diana.
