David L. Hanlon

December 31, 1969 — March 20, 2016

Biography: David L. Hanlon, 67, of Bucyrus passed away on Saturday March, 19,2016 in Altercare of Bucyrus.  He was born March 5, 1949 in Galion to the late Harold L. Hanlon Sr. and Ida Gloria (Keosterer) Petroff.  On October 23, 1971 he married Mary “Kathy” (Meadows) Hanlon preceding him in death on April 21, 2006.
He is survived by his two children, Lisa (Chris) Perkins of Bucyrus and David Greg (Billie) Hanlon of Corbin Kentucky.  Also surviving are his grandson, Hunter; his brothers, Harold (Nancy) Hanlon Jr. of Wintersville, Ohio, Dennis (Betty) Hanlon of Attica; his sister, Pam Light (Carl Blankenship) of Bucyrus; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  He is also preceded in death by his step father, Boris Petroff. 
He spent his entire life in the community graduating the Bucyrus High School class of 1968.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam and worked for the Timken Company retiring after 35 years of service.  He enjoyed watching baseball, hunting when he was younger and fishing. 
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11 am to 1 pm where services will be held at 1 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Compton officiating, burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.  Memorials may be given in his memory to the American Cancer Society or Home Care Matters Hospice through the funeral home.  Expressions of sympathy may be left at munzpirnstill.com.
