Danny Charles "Deege" Dunford Jr.

Danny Charles "Deege" Dunford, Jr., passed away unexpectedly on September 28, 2025. He had just celebrated his 42nd birthday on September 1. He graduated from Colonel Crawford High School and was employed at Nucor Steel Marion as a stir tech.

Danny will always be remembered for his sense of humor and love of food, heavy metal, and helping others. He would help those in need without hesitation or judgment. He also loved heavy metal music and enjoyed recording and mixing bands, going to concerts, and catching live shows locally. He loved to travel and often vacationed in Las Vegas. He loved his family, and if you were his friend, no matter how much time had passed, when you saw him again it was as if no time had passed at all.

Deege is survived by his parents, Danny (Gigi) Dunford, Pamela Dunford, sisters Lindsay Dunford and Delanea Dunford, his dog Bella who would only sing for him, nephews Liam, Nicolas, Carter, and Theodore, aunts and uncles Scott (Rhonda) Dunford, Karen Spence, Barney Dunford, Cheryl Dunford, Tina Robinett, Tracey (Daryl) Shields, Jimmy (Suzi) Severns, Angie (Darcy) Albright, Bridget Heintz, Joe Severns, Susie Adams, and Dwayne Heintz, and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by grandparents Helen and Barney Dunford, Max and Virginia Severns, Jim Albright, and Donna Albright, uncles Donnie Adkins, Michael Severns, and Gary Spence.

The family will receive friends at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Thursday from 5:30-7:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made in the form of contributions to the Colonel Crawford Music Boosters. Expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com
