Dale W, Riedel

Biography:  Dale W. Riedel, 97 of Bucyrus passed away on Sunday at Altercare of Bucyrus.  Dale was born October 23, 1918 in Sycamore to the late Wooster and Verna (Olds) Riedel.  He was married January 25, 1941 to Lois (Zeis) Reidel who preceded him in death on October 23, 2006.  He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.


Dale is survived by five children, Sharon Olds, Bucyrus; Carolyn “Susie” Vaughn, Bucyrus; Martin Riedel, Sycamore; Michael (Shelly) Riedel, Tiffin; and Kevin Riedel, Fort Myers, FL; 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; one sister Marjorie Bookmyer of Upper Sandusky.
 
Dale retired in 1982 from General Electric in Tiffin.  He attended Sycamore Schools and was a lifelong resident of the Bucyrus and Sycamore areas.  He was a member of Sycamore Methodist Church and was a WWII Air Force Veteran.
 
At Dale’s request his body was donated to O.S.U. for anatomical research.  The family suggests memorials be made to Meals on Wheels or the Crawford County Humane Society through the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home.  Expressions of sympathy can be left at munzpirnstill.com
