Cora D. Mee

Cora D. Mee, 92 of Bucyrus passed away on Saturday July 19, 2025 at Orchard Park in Bucyrus. Cora was loved by many and known affectionately by “Mimi”. She was born April 11, 1933 in Portland, Tennessee to the late Charles and Hazel (Hunter) Freeman. She was also preceded in death by husband Alfred D. Mee in 1995; brother James (Nell) Freeman and sister and brother in laws Dorothy (Grady) Purdue, Maxine (Hayden) Searcy, Geraldine (Jearl) Groves, and infant sister Shirley.

Cora is survived by daughter Wanda (Robert) Berry of Bucyrus and son James D (Sue) Mee of Bucyrus; grandchildren Tonya (Patty Grossbard) Swick, Hayley (Harry) Matheny, Andrew Mee, Miranda Mee, Rob Berry, Craig (Tracy) Berry, and Jamey (Christy) Berry; great grandchildren Odessa, Kyler, Clarissa (Danny), Michael, Justin, Jessica, Kylie, Lacey, Koneta (Allen) Andrew, and Cody; 7 great great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Cora attended school in Portland Tennessee and lived most of her life in the Bucyrus and Nevada areas. She retired from General Electric after working 38 years. Cora was formerly a member of the Bucyrus Evangelical Center where she had taught Sunday School and later attended Nevada Lutheran Church and most recently attended the Bucyrus Nazarene Church. She enjoyed traveling, collecting Christmas Santas, Moon and Stars Glassware, and Denim days collections, canning, gardening, attending flea markets. and camping.

The family would like to thank Dr. Brandy Blanton and the staff of Orchard Park for being so caring and helpful.

The family will receive friends at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Wednesday from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm where services will be conducted by Rev. Ray LaSalle. Burial will follow the services in Nevada Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Bucyrus Nazarene Church.
