Constance (Connie) Ellen (Keller) Luidhardt, 97, passed away at 4:05 p.m. on January 10, 2023.

Connie was born at home east of Sulphur Springs, Ohio, on February 18, 1925, to John and Mary (Heitzman) Keller, who preceded her in death. On November 10, 1946, she married Paul F. Luidhardt, who preceded her in death on April 19, 1999. Connie became a member of the Chatfield Evangelical Pietist Church soon after their marriage.

Connie enjoyed her schooling days. She graduated from Sulphur Springs High School in 1943 where she played in the school orchestra and Gilbert’s County Band. She was in Girl’s 4-H as soon as she became of age and was later in Boy’s 4-H taking a heifer calf. She worked at Shelby, Marion and Bucyrus Railroad, Bucyrus Farm Bureau, Ohio Crane and a cook at Lykens School.

As a member of the Chatfield Evangelical Pietist Church, she participated in the Women’s Missionary Society early in life. She had also been a 4-H advisor. Connie retired in 1990 as a cook for Wynford Schools.

Connie was well known for her pie making skills. She entered award winning pies in the Crawford County Fair and baked pies for church fund-raisers. Connie also enjoyed making pretzels for her husband to take to work and for her family’s enjoyment.

Connie was a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Great-Great Grandmother. She is survived by children: Irene (James) Cooper, Lima, OH; Norma Darnell, Wauseon, OH; Niel (Debi) Luidhardt, Marysville, WA; and Ilona (Larry) Bertsch, Sycamore, OH; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a brother, John Keller; twin granddaughters, Jennifer and Jessica Darnell; son-in-law, Stanley Darnell; sister, Gladys Starlin, brother James Keller; sister Madesta (Keller) Leonard; sisters-in-law Lula Rothhaar, Roma Keller and Mary Luidhardt; and brothers-in-law Calvin Luidhardt, Donald Rothhaar and Warren Starlin.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 at the Chatfield Evangelical Pietist Church on Sunday January 15, 2023. Service will follow the visitation at 4:00. Funeral services will be held at Chatfield Evangelical Pietist Church, 3535 Chatfield Center Rd., Bloomville, OH 44818. Rev. Larry Bertsch will officiate the service. Burial will be in the Lust Cemetery immediately following the funeral. Memorial contributions may be made to the Chatfield Evangelical Pietist Church, Gideons, Crawford County Council on Aging, or HomeCare Matters Health and Hospice.
