Charles Chester Brown Jr.

Charles Chester Brown Jr., 59 of Bucyrus passed away on Monday, September 7, 2026, at Ohio State University Hospital. His death was unexpected due to a fall on Sunday at his home.

Charles was born on Monday, January 2nd, 1967, in Galion. He is survived by Father Charles (Pat Edgington) Brown; Mother Beverly Shuster (David) Fultz; parents Chuck “Dick” and Connie Smith of Nebraska.

Charles married the love of his life Mary Thomas on June 23, 1990, and they collectively shared 39 years of love and created special memories. Within those years their beautiful daughter Brandy (Aramis) Brown Richey. Brandy and Aramis gave Charles a grandson Aramis Jr on February 10, 2018, who passed away later that month. Upon Marrying Mary, he also gained another family, Sonny and Carol Thomas and their children Jeff Williams, Wanda Williams, and the late Ralphie (Lisa) Thomas.

Charlie was blessed with a big family that he loved very much that included his siblings; Mary and Lyle Arnett, Nancy Myers, Lisa and Ken Detillion, Nikki and Tommy Pfeifer, Kris Edgington, all from Bucyrus, Brad and Lori (Kramer) Brown and Becky Brown of Marion, John Conn of Lexington, Monica (Tim) Sedlacek, Tonya (Hayes) Ngotel, and Amber Tafoya of Nebraska.

Charlie had numerous nieces and nephews that he and Mary helped raise and did special activities with all of them. He also had companions that loved him, Jake, Rocky, and Nyia .

Charlie was also preceded in death by siblings Teresa and Billy Brown, Robin Blevins, Dee Dee Riley, and Connie Bucher; grandparents Marion and Betty Brown, Kenneth and Marion Shuster.

Charlie grew up in Bucyrus and after leaving high school he worked at numerous places before getting his CDL and he started his truck driving career with Hyway Trucking. He was able to see many states of the United States but after an unfortunate accident it caused him to switch gears. Later he and his wife opened up Pizza Brothers/Charlie Bear's pizza in Bucyrus which they ran for numerous years. Charlie's favorite pastimes that he enjoyed were watching NASCAR, wrestling, and listening to music while working on his photo album collection. Most of all, family was everything to him. He also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson as that was one of his loves.

Charlie will be greatly missed by everyone because of his kindness and joking personality.

The family will receive friends on Friday at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home from 10:00 am until the time of the Service at 1:00 pm. Pastor Lyle Arnett will be officiating services and burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers contributions can be made through the funeral home to offset funeral costs. The family also suggests that guests dress informally in either Harley Davidson or NASCAR attire if they so wish. Expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com
