Carroll Dean Byrum, 86 of Bucyrus passed away early Monday morning April 24, 2023 at Woodside Village in Mt. Gilead.  Carroll was born September 11, 1936 in Sumner County, TN to the late John and Effie (Groves) Byrum.  He was married July 18, 1955 to Nellie (Agee) Byrum who preceded him in death on September 14, 2004.  He was also preceded in death by sons Tillman “Russ” Byrum, Rodney Byrum, and Shannon Byrum; grandson Josh Byrum; and siblings Martha Smith, Kathleen Summers, Leonard, Jesse, J.C., Bobby, and Kermit.

Carroll is survived by grandchildren Russell (Patricia) Byrum, Leesa (Mike) Bares, Shena (Steve) Meeks, and Amber (Dustin) Johns; numerous great grandchildren.

Carroll lived most of his life in Bucyrus and retired from Swan Rubber after 22 years.  Carroll was a tinkerer and worked on motors both electric and gas, as well as clocks.  He loved music and playing string instruments and traveling to different bluegrass shows.  He worked also as furnace man and installed and fixed refrigeration and heating.  Most of all Carroll loved all of his family.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 1:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with burial to follow in Oakwood Cemetery.  Funeral Services can be viewed on facebook live Munz-Pirnstill.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 am until the time of the service.  Expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com.  The family would like to especially thank Woodside Village and Southern Care Hospice for their excellent care.
