Carl Ray Massey

Carl Ray Massey, 64 of Bucyrus passed away unexpectedly on Thursday May 21, 2026 at Bucyrus Community Hospital. Carl was born May 5, 1962 in Bucyrus to the late Albert Massey Sr. and Joyce (Morrow) Massey. He was also preceded in death by infant brother Roy Allen.

Carl is survived by wife Michelle (Mardis) Massey; children Heather, Carl Jr., Joe, and Dustin Massey and Jake Nicholson; 15 grandchildren and 1 expected, brothers Albert “Pete” Massey Jr. and Larry (Karen) Massey; sister Penny (Steve) Swartz; as well as nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.

Carl graduated from Colonel Crawford High School in 1981 and recently retired as a truck driver after 25 years. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. Carl loved Demolition Derby’s and the outdoors that included fishing, camping, and cookouts. He was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Bengals. Most of all Carl loved his grandchildren and family.

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday May 28, 2026 in the Oakwood Cemetery at 1:00 pm. The Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements and expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com. The family suggests that memorials be made through the funeral home
