Bret A. Volkmer

Biography: Bret A. Volkmer, 54, of Bucyrus passed away on Friday at home. Bret was born November 20, 1958 in Bucyrus to Jerry Volkmer who survives in Bucyrus and the late Karen (Kline) Volkmer. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by wife Beth (Yates) Volkmer.
Bret is also survived by daughter Terra Sandlin and son-in-law Kenny Sandlin, granddaughter Klaire Sandlin and grandson Quinn Sandlin of Herndon, Virginia; brother Brad Volkmer and sister-in-law Kathy Volkmer of Huntsville, AL; step daughter Amanda Sturtz and mother-in-law Lois Morrison of Bucyrus.
Bret retired from Timken and currently was working at Whirlpool in Marion. He graduated from Colonel Crawford H.S. in 1977 and received an associate degree from O.S.U. Bret enjoyed motorcycles (especially Harley Davidson’s), Science Fiction,and playing his guitar. Most of all Bret was a loving father, grandfather, son, and brother.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Voelker officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-7 pm. Memorials may be made to the Prosthetics Outreach Foundation through the funeral home and expressions of sympathy can be left at munzpirnstill.com
