Biography: Betty Jean Klink, 89 of Bucyrus died Saturday September 1, 2018 at Altercare of Bucyrus following a brief illness. Betty was born September 20, 1928 in New Winchester to the late Hollis and Ruth Cress but was raised by Ruth and her second husband Homer Weiland whom she called Dad. She married Richard Klink on Sept. 19, 1948 and he preceded her in death on Feb. 15, 2009. She was also preceded in death by son Frederick Klink and brother Robert.
Betty graduated from Holmes Liberty High School in 1946. She and her husband operated Klink Oil for many years. She was a member of Chatfield Evangelical Pietist Church since 2010.
Betty was a simple woman that loved her family, always had a big smile, never met a stranger she wouldn't talk to, and loved to play cards. She loved the Lord and taught Sunday School for 50 years at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Chatfield.
Betty is survived by her two sons Edward (Karen) Klink and Theodore (Ellen) Klink, daughter -in-law Candace Klink, 5 grandchildren: Amanda (Shane) Alvis, Adam Klink, Joanna (Jason) Dutton, Nathaniel (Susan) Klink, and David Klink; 11 grandchildren, Kora, Lanae, and Mahrian Dutton; Shelby, Harvey, and Shiloh Klink; Ashton, Rylie, Caleb, and Luke Alvis; and Vincent Klink.
By Betty's request there will be no calling hours or services. A private family gathering will be held at a later date in Nazareth Lutheran Church Cemetery.
