Betty Irene Brooks

Biography:  Betty Irene Brooks, age 73, passed away at home April 19, 2018 surrounded by family. Betty was born to the late Alvin and Goldie “Clark” Royal January 29, 1945 in Vanceburg, KY. Betty is preceded in death by parents, daughter, Kelly Brooks, siblings, Homer Lawhun, Jackie Royal, Georgia “Sis” Royal, George Royal, Michael Royal, and Jeanie Royal.
 
Betty is survived by loving husband of 50 years, Don Brooks; daughter, Michelle Brooks; son, Ernie (Rett) Brooks; brother, Kevin (Cynthia) Royal; grandchildren, Jon Brooks, Renee Brooks, Shaina (Cory) Dewiel, Rilyn Roth, BreAnna (Alax) Ludwig, Donnie Brooks; 9 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
 
Betty was a graduate of Lewis County HS in Vanceburg KY. After moving to Ohio she got a job with Wynford School District as a cook. She spent 30 years at that position. Betty loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. She enjoyed nature, being outside, and walks along the river. 
 
Visiting hours are 4-7 Friday at Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home and 10-12 Saturday morning. The funeral service will be at noon on Saturday at Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation or to the American Liver Foundation. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery.
