Arthur L. Steiger

Biography: Arthur L. Steiger, 86 of Bucyrus passed away on Tuesday August 6, 2019 at Carlisle House in Bucyrus.  Arthur was born October 31, 1932 in Crawford County to the late Roy and Helen (Gifford) Steiger.  He was married September 5, 1959 to Janet (Maskey) Steiger who survives.  Arthur is also survived by daughters Karen (Chris) Haldeman; Peggy (Mike) Hassinger; and Susan (Dale) Young; grandchildren Justin (Melissa) Miller, Jared Miller, Heather (Ryan) Ward, Lindsey (Robbie) Hamm, Erika (Josh) Snyder, Brittany (Brian) Griffin, Tyler (Paige) Young, and Trevor Young; 18 great grandchildren and one brother Gerald (Ardene) Steiger.
Arthur retired from the Timken Company after 33 years and he also delivered mail on the New Washington Route.  He graduated from Holmes Liberty H.S. Class of 1950 where he was the class President and Valedictorian. Arthur was a Korean Army Veteran serving in the 101st Airbourne and the Screaming Eagles.   Arthur enjoyed antique cars, going to auctions, collecting cast iron skillets, farming and animals.  He attended the Bucyrus Church of the Nazarene.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 am until noon.  Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday with Rev. Ray LaSalle officiating and burial in Benton Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Wounded Warriers, or WXML Radio in Upper Sandusky.  Expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com
